On Saturday, March 28, 2020, Richard “Rich” Larry Forney, age 77, passed away at the Arbors of Streetsboro. He was born on October 24, 1942 in Warren, OH to Randall and Kathryn (Hofus) Forney.
Rich grew up on his family farm near Lake Milton, an area that he loved. When he would get the chance, he would take his grandchildren to see the farm that he grew up on.
Rich served as a member of the United States Air Force. He was a police officer for many years, and then a truck driver until his retirement. He would collect PEZ candy dispenser, salt and pepper shakers, and anything his grandchildren made him. Rich loved to ride horses with his children and grandchildren. He was also a member of the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene.
Rich is survived by his wife of 31 years, Bonnie Kay (Cooper) Forney of North Lima; children, Richard L. (Lisa) Forney Jr. of Lordstown, Robyn (Robert) Bardo of Austintown, George Forney of Austintown, Brenda (David) Baird of East Palestine, Betty Jo (William) Jessop of Columbiana, Harold "Buster" Groves of North Lima; grandchildren, Justin Long of Struthers, Samantha Baird of Sharon, Jordan (Phil) Jessop of New Waterford, Taylor (Nick) Jessop of Columbiana, Tyler (Halley) Baird of East Palestine; great-granddaughter, Oaklyn Rose; many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 25, 2020 in Columbiana Nazarene Church, 330 N. Elm St., Columbiana, OH 44408.
