On Saturday, February 3, 2024, Herminio Rodriguez, age 79, of Youngstown, OH went home to be with the Lord. He was born on February 14, 1944 in Barrio Anones-Naranjito, Puerto Rico to the late Eulogio Rodriguez Fontanez and Maria "Lola" Rodriguez Rodriguez.
Herminio was an over-the-road truck driver who retired after 40 years of driving. He lived in Puerto Rico, New York and then Ohio. Herminio loved his family and friends and he enjoyed spending time with them around the table eating all different types of foods. He liked to stay connected to his loved ones and friends and did so through social media. You could describe Herminio as a jack of all trades. Anyone who knew him could call on him for advice or help for any electrical, mechanical and plumbing issues they had. He was proud of all the tools he acquired throughout his lifetime. With them he was able help others and that brought him a lot of satisfaction. Herminio was also a true Yankees fan.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Reina Medina Rodriguez; children, Millie (Heather) Medina, Mari (Manny) Rodriguez, David (Agnes) Rodriguez, Edwin Rodriguez; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Herminio is preceded in death by a son, Juan Rodriguez; daughter, Ana Mercedes; sister, Elba-Angel Luis; and brothers, Miguel and Gino Eliseo.
The family sends it heartfelt thanks to Jalisa "Jelly" that lovingly cared for Herminio. Jelly patiently helped him with his food and always made sure he stayed hydrated. The family also appreciates those individuals who assisted in his care and cooked meals for him while he was ill. Herminio's wife, children and grandchildren want you to know how much your support and love has meant to them all during this difficult time.
A celebration of life will be held in Herminio's honor at Christ Community Church of Campbell located at 531 Neoka Drive, Campbell on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 6:30PM.
