Early on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, Dorothy Irene Perazich, age 85, of Austintown, formerly of Las Vegas, passed away to be with our divine Lord. She was born in Youngstown, on May 13, 1935 to the late Edna and Taswell Benton of Youngstown, OH.
She was a graduate of Ursuline High School and worked as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell. Dorothy had an avid love for sewing and was a seamstress at Abraham’s Bridal Store for many years. She also loved roses and her garden was always a magnificent sight to see. Her passion in life was foremost her family and friends.
She was the beloved mother of five children, Patti (Mike) Haskins of Dallas, TX, Chuckie Perazich of North Las Vegas, NV with whom she made her home, Sue (Henry) Morchak of New Middletown, OH, Lulu (Mike) Murphy of Youngstown, OH, Donna (Doug) Krause of Cleveland, OH; beloved grandmother of Maureen (Craig) Wilkinson of Akron, OH, Henry Morchak Esq. of Cleveland, OH and Kelly Murphy of Youngstown, OH.
Besides her parents Dorothy was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles A. Perazich, the former Sports Editor of the Youngstown Vindicator, whom she married on August 20, 1955.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the entire staff at Briarfield at Ashley Circle for the care given to Dorothy in her final days.
A private ceremony will be held for immediate family.
