Doreen Peterson Obituary

On Monday, June 22, 2020, Doreen Peterson, age 71, of East Palestine, passed into her heavenly home.  She was born the youngest of seven children in East Palestine on April 21, 1949 to Oscar Homer and Viola Elizabeth (Hartman) Peterson.

Doreen is survived by her children, Christina (husband-Rick McMasters) Kennedy, Mathew (Jen) Madden; grandchildren, Rachel (Rob) Snedeker of East Palestine, Jennifer Kennedy, Madison McMasters, Sydney Madden, Colten Madden; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Becca, Willow, Robert, Jameson; sister, Nancy (Joseph) Galza of East Palestine; sister-in-law, Sarah Peterson of FL, best friends, Nancy Dyke of East Palestine, Joan Mill of NC; many wonderful nieces and nephews who she loved.

Besides her parents, Doreen was also preceded in death by her siblings, Butch Peterson, Chuck (the late Sarah) Peterson, Dick Peterson, Shirley (the late Larry) Craig, and Anita Spiker.

Doreen took tap & baton in Janeets and at thirteen or fourteen years of age won an award for ability to dance.
She graduated from East Palestine High School in 1968 and went on to work at various woman's shelters while living in NC.  Later is was the activities director for nursing home in north Lima.
