Charles Sayre Obituary

On Monday, July 27, 2020, Charles R Sayre, age 82, of Columbiana, passed away to be with the Lord. He was born in Chester, WV on March 27, 1938 to Okey Sr and Elsie (Newland) Sayre.

Charles, a "lefty", played baseball with Old Timers Baseball in Chester, WV and was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Browns, New York Yankees, NASCAR/Carl Edwards. He also enjoyed leading the music and singing in church, and playing the guitar.

Charles is survived by his spouse of 62 years, Phyllis (Smith) Sayre; daughters, Cindy (Joe) Johnston of Ashtabula, Debbie Erdel of Columbiana, Alisha (Dennis) Ruschel of Conway, SC; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Okey Jr and James Sayre; sister, Mable White.
