On Sunday, November 17, 2019, Marilyn A Boggs, age 90, passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boardman. She was born in Youngstown on January 12, 1929 to Lloyd and Sophia (Tibbits) Shaw.
Marilyn worked for Ohio Bell prior to being a homemaker and raising three sons, while earning a master’s degree in education from Youngstown State University. She taught 3rd grade at Watson Elementary School in Austintown for 25 years, retiring in 1996.
She was very active following retirement, volunteering with many local charities, playing bridge, while also traveling the world extensively.
She is survived by her three sons, Jeff and Cliff of Ohio; Ray (Cynthia) Boggs, and granddaughters, Kelly and Elizabeth, all of Florida.
Besides her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Glenn Boggs, whom she was married to from 1953 to 1985; and brothers, Norman and Richard.
As per Marilyn’s wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, Marilyn’s family requests donations to the charity of your choice.
