Marie (Visser) Nelson

On Mother's Day, May 12, 2019, Marie (Visser) Nelson, age 85, passed away surrounded by her family in St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital after a brief illness with lung cancer.  She was born in Twisk, Holland on August 13, 1933 to Pieter and Trijntje (Veerman) Visser.

When Marie was eighteen she met a young US Army soldier while he was in Amsterdam.  One year later they married and today she is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-six years, Richard "Dick" Nelson.  She is also survived by her daughter, Patti (Art) Conser of Columbiana; grandchildren, Michael (Bobbi) Pannunzio of New Waterford, MSgt. Krissy (MSgt. Harrell) Singley USAF, of Dayton, Kimberly Pannunzio of Youngstown; great-grandchildren, Dani-Lynn Pannunzio (age 10), Brandon Adams (age 18), Jordan Adams (age 14), Jacob (age 11), Bryson (age 8), Cole Singley (age 4), ; sisters, Catrina Visser of Amsterdam, Holland and Corrie Balster of Purmerend, Holland.

Besides her parents, Marie was preceded in death by six siblings.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the Prayer Service at 12:30  pm on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Cremation & Funeral Service by Gary S Silvat Inc,  3896 Oakwood Ave., Austintown, OH 44515.
