POLAND- Joseph Mastropietro, 63, passed away Sunday July 14, 2019. Joseph was born to the late Joseph and Julia (Backsa) Mastropietro in Youngstown, Ohio, April 20, 1956.
Joe was a graduate of Mooney High School, class of 1974 and remained friends with many of his classmates throughout the years.
He married Marion (Kate) Zimmerman in Houston, Texas on November 10, 1979.
Joseph spent his career working for the City of Youngstown and retired as Superintendent of the Street Department in 2012.
Joseph's greatest joy was his big Italian family gatherings. He took particular pride in cooking his grandmother Sparky's traditional Christmas Eve feast. He never failed to have a story ready that would gather a group for a great laugh.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Kate; sons, Joseph Michael, Daniel Giovanni, Andrew Vittorio; daughter, Christina Viola; grandson, Maxwell James Mastropietro; brother, Armand (Jennifer); nephew, Armando; niece, Marcella; sister, Darlene and neice Kendall.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday July 20th as an open house beginning at 2:00 pm. at his residence at 3905 Dobbins Road in Poland, Ohio
A special thank you to the United States Navy having made arrangements for Andrew to return home for his father's service, to Tim and Michelle Walsh who loved and cared for Joe "like a brother" and made his visits into a party, and an extra special thanks to the Band, Jethro Tull, the music Joe lived his life to.
