John "Jack" Devlin Obituary

On Friday, March 15, 2019, John "Jack" W. Devlin, age 73, of Austintown, passed away at Washington Square Health Care in Warren with his wife, Beverly, at his side.  Jack was born in Youngstown on July 28, 1945 to Thomas and Cecil (Welsh) Devlin.

Besides his wife, the former Beverly Kellner, Jack is survived by his children, Karla (Matthew) Lassonde of MN, Karl (Lisa) Devlin of Austintown; grandchildren, Calin Lassonde, William Lassonde, Madeleine Devlin, all at home with their parents; siblings, Bonnie (Mason) Blackburn of Austintown, Patty Gordon of Hubbard, BJ (Chuck) Fenton of Lake Milton, TC Devlin of Mineral Ridge, James Devlin of Boardman, Dave (Inger) Devlin of Newton Falls, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Jack was also preceded in death by his sister, Susan Cartier.

Jack was a Christian man and had a great work ethic.  At the age of fifteen got his first job at the fruit stand located on the corner of Mahoning Ave and Raccoon Rd.  He worked hard his entire life and honorably served his country in the United States Army.  He was an avid outdoorsman and conservationist.  He was a long time member of the Lowellville Rod & Gun Club and ran the club's annual Family Day which included target shooting, archery and fishing in the club's lake.  Trophies were awarded in each event according to age.  Jack also ran the club's Turkey Shoots usually held semi annually.  For his dedication he was honored with a Lifetime Membership.
