James William Monigold

On  Thursday, August 29, 2019, James William Monigold, age 76, of Massillon, Ohio passed away in Salem East Health Care Center.  He was born in Massillon on July 18, 1943 to Arthur and Mary Jane (Oliver) Monigold.

James is survived by his only son, James Jason "Jay" (Charlene) Monigold of Salem, OH; grandsons, James and Jacob Monigold, both at home; former wife, Carol (Davis) Monigold; siblings, John (Pat) Monigold of North Lawrence, OH, Steve (Pixie) Monigold of Navarre, OH, Mary Jane "Molly" (Ernie Sr.) Koenemund of Pittsburgh, Martty (Trent) Trotter of Navarre, OH, Sue (Bill) Matta of North Lawrence, OH and Sean (Michele) Monigold of Canton, OH.

Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, David Monigold.

James enjoyed hunting, fishing and honorably served his country in the National Guard.  He was a good man who had a great relationship with his son, Jay, but in the last twenty years his most joy came from the time he spent seeing his grandsons grow into the two young men they are today.

In keeping with James' wishes no public service will be observed.  Material donations may be made to the Hospice of the Mahoning Valley in Jim's honor.
