Eleanor (DePerro) Thomas

On Wednesday, June 13, 2018, Eleanor (DePerro) Thomas "Graduated to Glory" in Youngstown.  She was born in New Waterford, OH on September 3, 1928 John and Laura (Galterio) DePerro.

Eleanor is survived by her beloved daughter Lorilee (Frank) Amedia of  Canfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Carisa Miklusak  of NY, Michal Amedia of OH, Capt. Keshet Shayna Lemberg, USAF, Capt. Samuel Amedia, USAF; great-grandchildren, Zakarie Amedia, Gabriel Lemberg, Lailie Ella Blu Lemberg, Anika Miklusak and Asher Miklusak.  Besides her parents Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Thomas; siblings, Frank, John, George, Albert, Richard DePerro and Minnie Andrews.

Growing up Eleanor worked on the family farm in New Waterford and graduated from Wilson High School where she was a member of the Majorette Squad.  In September 1952 she married her sweetheart, Joseph J. Thomas (Tomaskovic).   During her years outside her home Eleanor was employed with General Electric.  She was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol and Touch Heaven Church in Canfield, Ohio.  Sixteen years ago she retired and became a Florida Snowbird only to return in 2016 to be close to her loving family.

Eleanor enjoyed  bowling, ballroom dancing, roller skating, playing cards, walking by the beach and got great pleasure taking care of her grandchildren. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday September 1, 2018 at Touch Heaven Church, 10 Skyline Dr., Canfield, OH 44406.  Luncheon to follow.  Material contributions may be made in Eleanor's honor to Touch Heaven Ministries: www.touchheaven.com.
